We're not a chain. We're not investors parachuting into a hot market. We're neighbors who saw what this community needed and decided to build it.
Why Purple Buds exists
Jackson Heights is the most culturally diverse neighborhood in the United States. 165,000 people. 160+ languages. Communities from every continent packed into a few square miles along Roosevelt Avenue and the 7 train.
When New York legalized recreational cannabis, the first wave of dispensaries went to Manhattan. The second wave went to Brooklyn. Queens got overlooked, and Jackson Heights got nothing.
Purple Buds was founded to change that. We opened at 75-20 Roosevelt Ave because this is where we live and where we see the need. Working families who want access to quality cannabis without trekking to Manhattan. First-generation Americans who want to ask questions in their own language. People who deserve a dispensary that respects their time, their budget, and their intelligence.
We didn't build Purple Buds to be the biggest dispensary in Queens. We built it to be the one that this specific neighborhood trusts.
